Welcome
Ensuring that the New Zealand turf industry has a well-educated, highly skilled, adaptable and respected workforce capable of presenting quality turf, for turf facilities, is central to the role of NZ Sports Turf ITO.
This is achieved through industry leadership and the development of qualifications, skill standards and promoting training that is matched to the unique requirements of the industry.
While the key focus is sports turf, the ITOs’ scope of training and activity encompasses all turf areas, including passive use amenity turf and synthetic turf surfaces.
Our aim is to provide a seamless and collaborative service by supporting our learners and employers through the process. We work with our stakeholders to identify existing and anticipated skills gaps, and then tailor and implement relevant, high quality and cost-effective programmes to address them. Our programmes lead to nationally-recognised qualifications, developed in collaboration with the sector, and registered on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework.
Our mission is to develop the person and the person will grow the industry, so why wait – now’s the time to meet the challenge, sign on and make the sports turf industry something to be truly proud of.
