The
NZ Sports Turf Industry Training Organisation...
Providing
the New Zealand sports turf industry with a highly skilled, qualified and
adaptable work force...
The
NZ Sports Turf Industry Training Organisation (NZSTITO) was formed in 1993
to develop and manage qualifications and training programs for the NZ
sports turf industry that are registered on the NZ Qualifications
Framework. We are an incorporated society controlled by a Board of
Management made up of representatives of sports turf employer, employee
and educational groups.
The
NZ Sports Turf ITO works closely with turf industry leaders and employers
to ensure that its qualifications and training programs are entirely up to
date, and meet the highly specialised skill requirements of the turf
industry.
Functions
of NZSTITO:
- Design
NZ Qualifications Authority
accredited National qualifications and training programs for the New
Zealand sports turf industry.
- Provide
information and advice on sports turf industry training.
- Arrange
workplace based training towards turf qualifications,
Modern Apprenticeships and
'self-select' training packages tailored to the needs of individual
trainees and employers.
- Access
government subsidies through the Tertiary
Education Commission greatly reducing the cost of workplace-based
training to trainees and employers.
- Manage
national quality systems (moderation) for NZ Qualifications Framework
based training in the sports turf industry.
